Tata Power Renewable Energy Collaborates with Andhra Pradesh on 7 GW Renewable Energy Projects

by sthv

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Andhra Pradesh to explore renewable energy projects in the state. The agreement was finalized in Amaravati and marks a significant step toward achieving the state’s renewable energy goals.

Under this MoU, TPREL and the state government will jointly evaluate opportunities for solar, wind, and hybrid renewable energy projects, with or without storage solutions. The projects could collectively generate up to 7,000 MW (7 GW) of clean energy, potentially attracting investments of up to ₹49,000 crore. This would make it one of the largest renewable energy investments in Andhra Pradesh.

The projects will not only advance Andhra Pradesh’s clean energy agenda but also support local economic growth, create job opportunities, and promote skill development. This collaboration aligns with the state’s Integrated Clean Energy (ICE) Policy, which aims to develop over 160 GW of renewable energy with investments of up to ₹10 lakh crore.
