Bentley Motors has officially begun construction of its new Integrated Logistics Centre at its headquarters in Crewe. This significant move is part of the brand’s plans to support its transition to an all-electric future. The new facility is designed to improve operational efficiency, flexibility, and sustainability while playing a key role in Bentley’s Beyond100+ strategy.
The 11,620m2 centre will be responsible for processing and delivering materials to assembly lines, introducing advanced capabilities for organizing parts, both large and small. With the new logistics centre, Bentley will increase its on-site storage capacity by 35%, reducing the need for external warehouses and transportation.
In a first for the Volkswagen Group, Bentley will implement an innovative automated storage system. This cutting-edge technology will improve process stability and material sequencing, helping to streamline operations. The facility’s design prioritizes efficiency and flexibility, with direct links to production processes. It will also feature a three-story mezzanine, housing offices, training rooms, a canteen, plant equipment, a visitor area, and a viewing platform for operational oversight.
Andreas Lehe, Bentley’s Member of the Board for Manufacturing, commented: “The start of construction for the Integrated Logistics Centre is a crucial step towards Bentley’s goal of full electrification. This facility will enhance our logistics by increasing efficiency, handling customer demand, and integrating advanced automation. This investment supports Bentley’s all-electric future while upholding our commitment to quality and sustainability.”
Expected to be fully operational by mid-2026, the Integrated Logistics Centre will play an essential role in Bentley’s plan to become an exclusively electric brand by 2035.
