Prime Minister Hails Arrival as Milestone for Reliable Power Supply

In a significant move towards ensuring a stable and reliable energy supply, Sint Maarten’s Prime Minister Dr. Luc Mercelina announced the arrival of containerized generators on the island. The energy company NV GEBE confirmed the delivery of seven containerized engines totaling 10MW over the weekend to tackle the country’s persistent load shedding issues.

Under the supervision of NV GEBE’s management, including Troy Washington, SoEnergy International, and harbor personnel, the generators were successfully offloaded on Sunday afternoon without incident.

“The arrival of these generators marks a monumental step in securing a reliable energy supply for our country and minimizing current load shedding,” stated Prime Minister Dr. Luc Mercelina. “The next phase is to ensure their smooth delivery and installation at the GEBE Power Plant.”

The Prime Minister emphasized the positive impact these generators will have on the island, adding, “Hope is on the horizon!”

NV GEBE also announced that final preparations are underway at the power plant to accommodate the much-anticipated containerized generators.
