Shree Cement, a leading name in India’s cement industry, has launched a new grinding unit in Etah, Uttar Pradesh. The facility, which has an annual production capacity of 3 million tonnes, is a significant step forward for the company. With an investment of Rs 850 crore, the project is expected to create over 500 direct and indirect jobs in the region.
The new plant’s location near established railway infrastructure will help reduce transportation costs for raw materials, which will primarily be sourced from Rajasthan. Cement produced at the facility will be transported via both road and rail.
One of the standout features of the plant is its partnership with the nearby Jawaharpur Thermal Power Plant. The cement unit will utilize the power plant’s fly ash waste—around 5,000 tonnes per day—helping to enhance operational efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
Neeraj Akhoury, Managing Director of Shree Cement, highlighted the company’s commitment to supporting the growth of infrastructure and housing in Uttar Pradesh. He emphasized the company’s role in contributing to the state’s development.
