Denholm Energy Services, a Glasgow-based leader in specialist energy services, has expanded its engineering presence in central Scotland. The company has acquired Glacier Welding Solutions, a welding and cladding specialist, from its parent company Glacier Energy Holdings for an undisclosed amount. This acquisition is seen as a strategic move to strengthen Denholm Energy’s position in traditional energy markets and enhance its presence across the UK.
Glacier Welding Solutions is known for providing reliable, ethical, and high-quality services. As part of the deal, all management and staff will remain with the company, and Robert Hutcheson will continue as the managing director. This acquisition, the third this year within Denholm Energy’s engineering division, will further enhance the company’s energy engineering capabilities. Denholm Energy’s engineering division now employs over 400 staff and has operations in various locations, including Aberdeen, Glenrothes, Plymouth, Portsmouth, Falmouth, as well as in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi.
Michael Beveridge, CEO of Denholm Energy, commented on the acquisition, stating, “This move is a key part of our growth strategy. It brings us additional geographical presence, scale, and specialised services in both Scotland and the Middle East. The success of any acquisition is based on having the right people and services, and Glacier Welding Solutions offers both.”
Beveridge added, “I am excited to work with Robert and the team as we expand the business. Our shared values, including exceptional professionalism and ethical standards, make this partnership a perfect fit.”
Scott Martin, CEO of Glacier Energy, also shared his thoughts, saying, “Glacier Welding Solutions has been a significant part of our business, but as we shift towards a new strategic direction, it was the right time to part ways. I’m pleased that the company has found a great long-term home with Denholm Energy, and I wish them all the best in the future.”
This acquisition marks another step in Denholm Energy Services’ ongoing expansion and strengthening of its energy engineering division.
