Bowers & Jones, a manufacturing firm based in Bilston, has been named Export Business of the Year at the 2025 Insider Media Made in the Midlands Awards. The ceremony took place on April 9 at the Macdonald Burlington Hotel in Birmingham.
The company, which supplies equipment to the global metal forming industry, was also shortlisted for the Manufacturer of the Year (under £25 million) category.
This latest award follows the company’s success at the Black Country Chamber of Commerce Awards in November. There, Bowers & Jones won in the Manufacturing and Engineering category and received commendations in the International Trade and Business of the Year categories.

The Made in the Midlands Awards, now in their 15th year, celebrate outstanding manufacturing businesses across the region. The award highlights Bowers & Jones’ strong performance in export markets and its focus on high-quality production.
Founded in 1955, the company was acquired by Jane Sommerville and Nicola Owen in 2020. Since then, it has seen four consecutive years of growth in turnover. Bowers & Jones now works with over 300 customers across the UK, North America, Europe, and other regions. It is recognised as a global leader in the design, manufacture, and refurbishment of roll tooling and rolling mill equipment.
The firm specialises in tools used to shape long metal products, such as welded and seamless tubes, steel sections, and complex copper extrusions. Its products are also used in non-steel industries, including electrical conduction and heating cables.
With new contracts recently secured in the USA, Bowers & Jones is set for continued growth. The company is further strengthening its position as a key player in the international metal forming industry.
