CIMT 2025 to Showcase Innovations in Metal Cutting and Manufacturing

The 19th China International Machine Tool Show (CIMT 2025) will take place from April 21 to April 26 at the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing. The event will focus on cutting-edge metal cutting and manufacturing technologies. Organized by the China Machine Tool & Tool Builders’ Association (CMTBA), CIMT 2025 promises to be a key platform for industry innovations.

One of the highlights will be the unveiling of the 2025 version of KISSsoft at the Gleason stand (B3-031). The new KISSsoft system module will offer accelerated calculations for complex drivetrains. This update will also introduce a new development environment in SKRIPT, additional strength calculations for cylindrical gears, and the latest bevel gear standards, including ISO 10300 and DIN 3965. Furthermore, the module will feature advanced 3-D FEM calculations to assess tooth root stresses, all aimed at enhancing manufacturers’ workflows and boosting productivity.

The Genesis 280HCD gear hobbing machine will also be on display. This machine is designed to efficiently integrate chamfer cutting into the gear hobbing process. It can execute chamfer hobbing and fly cutter chamfering, making it ideal for both high-production environments and the efficient cutting and chamfering of small or medium-size batches.

Another key product at the show will be the universal 100PS power skiving machine, used for cutting internal and external gears. This versatile machine can quickly switch to a hobbing machine, making it suitable for producing robotic gears and other similar-size gears using Power Skiving or hobbing. The 100PS will be showcased alongside a robotic display to demonstrate its real-world applications.

Advanced Gear Metrology Systems

The 300GMS nano gear metrology system will highlight its ability to measure gear surface finishes at sub-micron levels. This system, featuring a skidless probe, can analyze waviness in profile and lead, and evaluate gear noise using advanced software tools such as ‘advanced waviness analysis’ and ‘KTEPS’. The advanced waviness analysis tool allows for quick and precise analysis of gears through both contact and non-contact inspection methods, which are essential for end-of-line testing.

KTEPS (kinematic transmission error prediction software) is a groundbreaking tool that helps identify tooth flank deviations that contribute to gear noise, offering in-depth analysis of gear noise for improved design.

Additionally, Gleason will showcase its Coniflex Pro design and manufacturing system. This system is designed to produce stronger, quieter, and more reliable straight bevel gears, making it particularly suitable for high-volume production of e-drive differential gears used in automotive, truck, bus, and off-highway transmissions.

Cutting and Grinding Tools

Gleason will also display a range of tools for both cylindrical and bevel gears, including hobs, shaper cutters, power skiving tools, shaving cutters, and grinding and honing tools. Their latest dressing tools for gear grinding and honing applications are designed to deliver consistently high-quality results and increase productivity.

Workholding Solutions

The company will also present the latest developments in hydraulic and mechanical workholding. New quick-change interfaces and inspection workholding for gear and non-gear applications will be demonstrated. Attendees will have the opportunity to test and handle workholding systems live at the stand.
