The Government of Odisha has approved the allocation of 70 acres of land to Inox Solar, a subsidiary of Inox Clean, for the construction of a large-scale solar manufacturing facility in Dhenkanal district. The project, valued at ₹4,000 crore, will include a 4.8 GW solar cell unit and a 4.8 GW solar module unit.
The new plant is expected to become a major part of India’s solar manufacturing ecosystem. It has received clearance from the High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA), and it is projected to create over 3,400 employment opportunities in the region.
Inox Clean is part of the INOXGFL Group, which had earlier revealed plans to invest ₹4,000 crore through Inox Solar in this advanced manufacturing project.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi welcomed the development. In an official statement, he said, “This investment supports our vision to make Odisha a leader in green energy. The plant will drive sustainable industrial growth, generate jobs, and help in the overall economic progress of the state.”
Devansh Jain, Executive Director of INOXGFL Group, also commented on the project. He said, “We are proud to partner with the Odisha Government to promote clean energy. This land allocation allows us to grow our solar capabilities and support the Prime Minister’s vision of making India a global clean energy hub. Our experience in renewable energy will help us offer top-quality manufacturing solutions for industries and local communities.”
