A new agrivoltaic power plant in the mountainous region of Guizhou Province, southwest China, has officially connected to the grid using Trinasolar’s high-efficiency Vertex N 720W modules. The solar farm, with a total installed capacity of 67.5 megawatts (MW), is expected to help the region cut down on fossil fuel use and lower carbon emissions.
According to project estimates, the plant will save around 20,900 tons of standard coal per year and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 57,100 tons annually. The clean energy produced is expected to supply thousands of local households with reliable and sustainable electricity.
The plant sits on a plateau that receives about 1,100 hours of usable sunlight each year. Its location, with vast stretches of underused land and strong solar exposure, made it ideal for solar power development. The grid connection will not only boost the local power supply but also help diversify the area’s energy mix and support its push toward a greener economy.
Trinasolar’s Vertex N 720W modules are built with advanced 210mm cells and n-type i-TOPCon Advanced technology. These features offer high efficiency, strong energy output, and reduced levelized cost of electricity (LCOE), making them a cost-effective choice for solar developers. The modules have passed seven rigorous reliability tests by testing agency Kiwa PVEL and are the first in the industry to earn the UVID certification, which confirms stable performance in solar projects.
In addition to generating power, the project adopts an agrivoltaic model—using the land for both energy production and agriculture. Livestock breeding and farming take place underneath the elevated solar panels, allowing clean energy and traditional farming to coexist.
The project manager noted Trinasolar’s global experience in similar projects. “Trinasolar has delivered products and solutions to agrivoltaic projects worldwide, including in Kohirā, Rangitaiki, Waikato, and Te Herenga o Te Rā in New Zealand. We’re proud to support the growth of renewable energy with high-performance solar solutions,” the manager said.
Trinasolar, a global leader in smart photovoltaic and energy storage technologies, continues to offer tailored solutions for different regions and customer needs. The company says it will stay focused on innovation and customer satisfaction while supporting the global shift to green energy.
