Daikin India has inaugurated its third research and development (R&D) centre in the country, located in Neemrana, Rajasthan. Spread over six acres and backed by an investment of ₹500 crore, the new facility is designed to serve both domestic and global markets, the company said in an official statement.
The centre will employ more than 500 engineers and is equipped with 22 advanced testing laboratories. These labs will focus on developing complete HVACR (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration) systems. The new setup is expected to boost Daikin’s production capabilities and support the company’s increasing export demands around the world.
Naofumi Takenaka, President and Chief Operating Officer of Daikin Industries, said the company remains dedicated to innovation. “This R&D centre allows us to focus on creating advanced and sustainable technologies. India is a key market for us, and this investment reflects our aim to develop solutions for both local and international needs,” he noted.
K J Jawa, Chairman and Managing Director of Daikin India, called the new centre a significant milestone. “We have invested a total of ₹2,800 crore so far to create world-class infrastructure in India. This R&D centre is a clear sign of our long-term commitment. It also highlights Daikin’s leadership in innovation and engineering in the Indian HVACR sector,” he said.
Daikin India, a subsidiary of the Japanese multinational Daikin Industries Ltd., entered the Indian market in 2000. Since then, it has become one of the country’s top air conditioning and refrigeration solution providers. The company offers a wide range of products for residential, commercial, and industrial use.
Daikin also runs a modern manufacturing plant in Neemrana. This facility focuses on producing energy-efficient and eco-friendly HVAC systems. The company is known for using advanced technology and promoting sustainable cooling solutions in India, with a strong emphasis on energy savings and reducing environmental impact.
