Topeka, KS — La Creperie Co., a beloved local food truck known for its delectable French desserts, has made a public appeal following the theft of crucial equipment valued at over $5,000. The theft, which involved a $5,000 inverter and multiple full gas tanks, has left the truck powerless and struggling to operate.

Owner Carmen Romero-Nichols expressed profound frustration, describing the incident as a severe setback for the business, particularly with a major food truck festival imminent. “This festival is the pinnacle event for the food truck community, and preparations begin weeks in advance,” Romero-Nichols stated. “Without the stolen equipment, we’re unable to power our truck, which is essential for operating our various machines.”

In an urgent effort to salvage their participation in the festival scheduled for Wednesday, August 14, Romero-Nichols revealed that the truck was only able to continue thanks to the generosity of a fellow food truck owner who provided loaned equipment.
