Amsterdam – Watermeln, a trailblazer in hydrogen generator technology, has announced a significant investment of €3.5 million from the Amsterdam Climate and Energy Fund (AKEF) and BEEQUIP. This funding marks a pivotal moment for the company, which is committed to advancing sustainable energy solutions.

The investment will enable Watermeln to accelerate its growth and expand its hydrogen generator fleet. The company plans to scale its M-200 units from three to thirteen, reinforcing its leadership in the sustainable power sector. This follows a successful round of funding last year, when Watermeln secured over €1.5 million from AKEF and Accenda.

In addition to scaling its current offerings, Watermeln is also investing in the development of both smaller and larger hydrogen units, as well as storage tanks. This expansion is designed to meet the needs of a diverse customer base.

Jeff Wezel, co-founder of Watermeln, expressed his enthusiasm: “Our goal is to make hydrogen generators accessible and affordable for a broad audience. We are deeply grateful for the support from our investors. This funding will allow us to ramp up production and broaden our product range. Our experience in powering off-grid festivals, charging stations, and construction sites has set the stage for us to lead the charge in the transition to sustainable energy.”

With this strategic investment, Watermeln is poised to make a significant impact on the hydrogen generator market and drive forward the adoption of cleaner, more sustainable energy solutions.
