Hon. Bamidele Yusuf, Chairman of Surulere Local Government in Lagos State, has been hailed for his significant contributions to his constituents’ economic well-being. In a recent empowerment program, Yusuf distributed a range of essential items aimed at fostering local entrepreneurship and business growth.

The event, marking Yusuf’s third anniversary as chairman and the third edition of the program, saw over 600 beneficiaries receiving valuable assets. Among the distributions, 240 individuals were awarded N100,000 each. Additionally, 139 people received deep freezers, soft drinks, and bottled water, while five were given grinding machines, and 35 received generators. In a bid to support local tailoring businesses, 32 individuals were provided with industrial sewing machines.

Addressing the crowd, Yusuf emphasized the purpose of the event—to give back to the community and provide the tools necessary for business development. He also took the opportunity to review his administration’s achievements, including the renovation and modernization of the local government’s old secretariat, creating a more efficient working environment for staff. Furthermore, Yusuf’s administration has constructed a new legislative building to enhance the efficiency of the local legislative body.

The chairman highlighted ongoing and upcoming road construction projects that aim to improve local infrastructure.

Lagos State APC Chairman Mr. Cornelius Ojelabi praised Yusuf for delivering on democratic promises and acknowledged the collaborative efforts between the chairman and the legislative arm in empowering the community.

In a show of traditional support, His Royal Highness Oba Lateef Atanda Adams, Onikate of Ikate Surulere, lauded Yusuf’s initiatives and encouraged beneficiaries to utilize the items received for their intended purposes, urging them to build successful businesses and contribute to job creation.
