HD Hyundai Construction Equipment North America and Develon have jointly announced the grand opening of a new 93,000-square-foot North American Customization Plant in Brunswick, Georgia, on September 4. This new facility will replace the original customization plant located in Savannah, which opened in 2019 in collaboration with logistics partner Wallenius Wilhelmsen.

The plant will focus on final assembly and customization of construction equipment, enabling HD Hyundai and Develon to meet specific requirements of North American dealers and customers. “This state-of-the-art facility will help us reduce lead times and get fully assembled machines to our customers faster,” said Stan Park, President and CEO of HD Hyundai Construction Equipment North America.

With 50% more space than the previous Savannah location, the new Brunswick facility offers advanced production capabilities, a larger indoor warehouse, and a dedicated machine storage yard. Its proximity to Interstate 95 enhances transportation efficiency, allowing for quicker shipment of assembled equipment.

The plant will handle tasks such as configuring excavator arms, adding additional cameras, or integrating advanced hydraulic systems based on customer specifications. “Our new customization plant in Brunswick will allow us to expedite services for dealers and customers, meeting their unique needs with a variety of final assembly options,” said Chris Jeong, President and CEO of Develon.

The expansion marks a significant investment in North American operations, aiming to enhance production and streamline equipment delivery across the region.
