Frankfurt, Germany — Cummins is showcasing its latest advancements in braking technology at Automechanika 2024, the premier trade fair for the automotive service industry. The event, held this week in Frankfurt, Germany, has provided a platform for Cummins to unveil several key innovations in its braking portfolio.

Among the highlights are updates to Cummins’ Meritor Air Disc Brake caliper range, designed for buses, trucks, and trailers. The company is introducing a new line of remanufactured calipers for European markets under its Euclid brand. This launch marks the beginning of a series of European product introductions under the Euclid name.

Euclid, which has been a significant player in the North American market for over 80 years, specializes in replacement parts for light-, medium-, and heavy-duty trucks, buses, and trailers. After becoming a Meritor brand in 1988, Euclid was integrated into Cummins following its acquisition of Meritor in 2022.

Additionally, Cummins is presenting an updated range of commercial vehicle disc brake pads, now categorized into Meritor Genuine, Premium, and Allfit series. The lineup includes the latest Positive Pad Retraction (PPR) technology, a cutting-edge retrofit solution designed to enhance braking performance.

Chris Freeman, from Cummins Drivetrain and Braking Systems Europe, expressed enthusiasm about the European debut of these products. “It’s incredibly exciting to present our braking solutions to the European market,” Freeman said. “Launching new products and introducing renowned brands that have thrived in the U.S. to Europe is a significant milestone. Our technologies are designed to enhance vehicle longevity and efficiency, and we look forward to engaging with customers at the show.”

This presentation at Automechanika 2024 underscores Cummins’ commitment to advancing braking technology and expanding its presence in the European automotive market.
