Kohler Energy has announced its rebranding as Rehlko, following its recent acquisition by Platinum Equity. The rebranding marks a significant transition for the company, which was purchased from Kohler Company in May 2024.

Rehlko will operate as an independent entity, incorporating both Kohler Power Systems and Kohler Engines. The rebranding process is expected to be completed by the end of the year. Platinum Equity will hold the majority stake in Rehlko, while Kohler Company will continue as an investment partner.

Brian Melka, the CEO of Rehlko, expressed enthusiasm about the new chapter: “We are embracing our future as an independent company with the new Rehlko brand. This transition allows us to honor our legacy while committing to solving the most complex energy challenges and upholding the core values of reliability, resolve, reinvention, and resilience.”

The name “Rehlko” is derived from the six letters of “Kohler” and reflects the company’s ongoing dedication to these values.

In addition to Kohler Power Systems and Engines, the rebranded Rehlko will also oversee Clarke Energy, Curtis Instruments, and Heila Technologies. The official unveiling of the Rehlko brand took place on September 17 at the Fast Company Innovation Festival.
