At the 2024 Equip Expo in Louisville, Kentucky, John Deere introduced its latest innovations in commercial mowing equipment, showcasing the new Z900 electronic fuel injection (EFI) ZTrak mowers alongside upgraded QuikTrak stand-on mower decks for the Q865R EFI model.

The enhanced ZTrak lineup now includes models Z955M/R, Z965M/R, Z975M, and Z985R, offering power options ranging from 30.5 to 40 horsepower. According to the company, the integration of the fuel injection system with the ignition enhances operational smoothness and overall performance.

“Our new Z900 EFI ZTrak mowers mark a significant advancement in our product offerings, delivering a wider array of EFI horsepower ranges to ensure smooth performance across various grass types and conditions,” said Brian Aldinger, product manager at John Deere. “With features like Oil Guard, electronic throttle control, and improved machine diagnostics, we are committed to helping our customers achieve superior productivity with enhanced power.”

The ZTrak mowers feature a display panel that provides operators with essential information, including vehicle hours, fuel levels, engine speed, and system voltage. Additionally, it includes indicators for power take-off, operator presence control, low oil pressure, park brake, and diagnostic codes.

In addition, John Deere unveiled a new 72-inch 7Iron PRO deck option for the Q865R EFI model, designed to increase cutting efficiency. This mower deck features anti-scalp wheels strategically placed in six locations to minimize scalping on uneven terrain, a single-drive belt design, and spindle covers for easy cleaning.

“By expanding our deck offerings on the QuikTrak mowers, we enhance productivity, ensuring our customers have the best options for diverse mowing applications. This reinforces John Deere’s commitment to providing superior quality mowing solutions,” stated Carl Agee, product marketing manager at John Deere.

Another highlight of the expo is the introduction of a new 60-inch FastBack PRO rear discharge deck for the Q865R EFI mower. This innovative deck allows mowing in both directions without needing to reposition the mower, making it particularly suitable for challenging environments such as cemeteries, roadsides, medians, and government properties.
