Rehlko, formerly known as Kohler Energy, has launched its new gasoline turf engine, the Command PRO 888, during the Equip Expo, taking place from October 15 to 18 in Louisville, Kentucky. This marks the debut of the engine under the Rehlko brand.
The Command PRO 888 is available in two versions—CV829 and CV832—and is engineered for commercial ride-on and stand-on mowers. With an 800cc displacement, the engine is designed for easy integration into existing OEM designs without requiring extensive modifications.
The two models offer impressive power density within a compact framework. The CV829 delivers 29 horsepower (21.6 kW) at 3,600 rpm, achieving peak torque of 52.2 ft-lb (70.8 Nm) at 2,400 rpm. Meanwhile, the CV832 produces 32 horsepower (23.8 kW) at the same rpm, with peak torque of 53.1 ft-lb (72.0 Nm) at 2,600 rpm. Both engines share a bore and stroke measurement of 3.5” x 3.1” (90mm x 78.5mm).
Rehlko emphasizes the new mechanical governor system, designed for rapid power delivery, which enhances the engine’s reliability in demanding applications. Standard features include a variable timing electronic ignition, a 12-volt solenoid start shifter, a 20-amp sealed charging system with over-voltage protection, and an engine-mounted oil cooler.
Engineered for durability, the Command PRO 888 also boasts extended maintenance intervals to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. Key design elements include a heavy-duty 6-inch air filter, full-pressure lubrication with a full-flow filter and Oil Sentry, easily removable cleanout covers, and accessible service points, all aimed at reducing maintenance efforts and enhancing serviceability.
