Titan International Inc., in partnership with its recent acquisition, the Carlstar Group, has launched its innovative Variable Pressure Operation (VPO) Technology at the Equip Exposition, taking place from October 15 to 18 in Louisville, Kentucky. This groundbreaking flat-proof technology enables machinery to operate effectively at various inflation pressures, even down to 0 psi.
“We initially developed this technology for military applications and have since conducted extensive testing with Polaris, adapting it for consumer use,” stated Chris Daum, general manager of Outdoor Power Equipment at Titan. “Our focus was on functionality in the product design, and the aggressive, stylish appearance is an added bonus.”
The versatility of VPO Technology allows operators to adjust tire inflation pressures to suit diverse terrains and applications. Key features include shock-absorbing properties that reduce whole-body vibration, and a closed sidewall design that prevents debris from lodging between spokes. This design helps avoid sidewall damage, minimizes balance issues, and enhances overall handling.
Testing has demonstrated that tires equipped with VPO Technology can run for hundreds of miles at speeds of 30 mph with no air pressure. The technology is adaptable for various applications, allowing operators to use the same tires whether or not they are hauling large attachments.
When combined with VPO Technology, the tread pattern on the Carlstar Invictus tire offers improved traction, self-cleaning capabilities, enhanced heat dissipation, and evenly distributed ground pressure.
In addition to the VPO Technology, Titan is showcasing other products, including the Carlstar Turf Master, Versa Turf Non-Directional, Smooth, and Grasszilla tires, alongside the Goodyear R14T and Softrac Pro models.
