At the 2024 Equip Expo in Louisville, Kentucky, taking place from October 15 to 18, Vanguard is unveiling its cutting-edge commercial engine and battery pack technologies at the Briggs & Stratton indoor and outdoor booths.
Vanguard’s offerings include battery packs available in both fixed and swappable configurations, with power options of 1.5, 3.5, 5, and 7 kWh. To demonstrate the technology, the indoor booth features equipment powered by the 1.5-kWh commercial battery pack (Si1.5), which boasts a standard charge time of just 75 minutes. The swappable battery system aims to alleviate range anxiety commonly associated with electric equipment, allowing for quick changes to freshly charged batteries.
In the outdoor display, Vanguard highlights ride-on mowers powered by two Fixed Series battery packs. The 3.5-kWh battery (Fi3.5) is available in both 24V and 48V configurations, while the 7-kWh commercial battery pack comes in two variations: a long configuration for golf and recreational applications and a tall configuration for new turf opportunities.
Vanguard is also showcasing its MVG Series motors and MC Series motor controllers, which provide a range of power options to accommodate various landscaping equipment sizes. Featured models include the MVG1500, MVG2200, MVG3000, and MVG4000 motors, alongside the MC2000, MC4000, and MC8000 motor controllers on display at the Briggs & Stratton booth.
Additionally, Briggs & Stratton is presenting its latest commercial engine technologies, including the 27-gross-hp engine from the CXi Series V-twin lineup. Designed for high-debris environments, the CXi Series features an optional Oil Xtend system, allowing for up to 250 hours between maintenance intervals for oil changes, spark plug replacements, and other essential maintenance.
Also on display is the new Vanguard 300 single-cylinder horizontal shaft engine, rated at 307cc with 10.0 gross hp, ideal for applications like leaf vacuums and blowers. This engine emphasizes extended maintenance intervals, enhanced cold-weather starting, and features such as TransportGuard and Cyclonic Air Filtration.
