Titan International Inc. has launched its innovative Variable Pressure Operation (VPO) Technology at the Equip Exposition, taking place from October 15-18 in Louisville, Kentucky. This cutting-edge flat-proof tire technology, showcased in the Carlstar booth, enables machinery to operate effectively at various inflation pressures, including as low as 0 psi.
Chris Daum, general manager of Outdoor Power Equipment at Titan, revealed that this technology was initially developed for military applications and has since undergone extensive testing with Polaris before being adapted for consumer use. “We put a lot of thought and passion into the product design with function at the forefront — it’s cool, aggressive-looking appearance is a bonus,” Daum stated.
The VPO Technology’s adjustable pressure feature allows operators to modify inflation levels based on terrain and application needs. The design includes shock-absorbing properties to reduce whole-body vibration and a closed sidewall that prevents debris from becoming lodged between the spokes. This design minimizes sidewall damage, balance issues, and other handling problems.
Testing has indicated that tires equipped with VPO Technology can travel hundreds of miles at speeds of 30 mph with zero air pressure. The technology’s versatility accommodates various applications, permitting use with or without large attachments on the same tire set.
Additionally, Titan claims that the tread pattern on the Carlstar Invictus tire, when combined with VPO Technology, enhances traction, self-cleaning capabilities, heat dissipation, and even ground pressure distribution.
Other notable products featured at the expo include the Carlstar Turf Master, Versa Turf Non-Directional, Smooth, and Grasszilla tires, as well as the Goodyear R14T and Softrac Pro.
