Toshiba to Supply Gear for Patuha 2 Geothermal Project, Indonesia

by sthv

Toshiba Energy Systems & Solutions Corporation (Toshiba ESS) has secured an order to provide a steam turbine and generator for the Patuha 2 Geothermal Power Plant in West Java, Indonesia. The equipment will be supplied to PT Inti Karya Persada Tehnik (IKPT), the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor for the project, which is owned by state-run PT Geo Dipa Energi (Geo Dipa).

The order comes shortly after a consortium of IKPT and PT Wasa Mitra Engineering (WME) was awarded the EPC contract for the Patuha 2 project. The plant, set to be operational by 2027, will have a maximum generating capacity of 60.3 MW.

Notably, Patuha Unit 1 utilizes Toshiba’s EtaPRO™, an advanced IoT-based system for monitoring equipment performance, diagnosing issues, and predicting potential problems. This technology enhances plant efficiency and ensures a stable power supply.

The Patuha 2 project marks another step in Toshiba’s efforts to support Indonesia’s transition to renewable energy and strengthen its presence in the global geothermal market.
