The City of Yreka has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the Pacific Power Foundation to fund the installation of a backup generator at City Hall. This upgrade will enable the facility to serve as a reliable community hub during power outages, ensuring essential services remain operational.

According to a city news release, the total cost of the generator is estimated at $15,000. The grant will help offset a portion of the expense, with the city covering the remaining funds.
