Siemens has launched its MACHINUM digitalization portfolio at IMTEX 2025, targeting significant improvements in efficiency, speed, and sustainability for India’s machine tool industry. The new portfolio promises to reduce setup times by up to 20% and decrease cycle times and energy consumption by up to 18%.
India’s machine tool sector is undergoing a digital transformation, fueled by rising investments in high-end manufacturing for both domestic and international markets. This shift is driven by the need for greater precision, customization, and integrated solutions in manufacturing processes.

MACHINUM, part of the Siemens Xcelerator digital business platform, combines software and IoT-enabled hardware to enable faster, scalable, and more efficient digital transformations in manufacturing and design.
At IMTEX 2025, Siemens also unveiled the upgraded 5th generation SINUMERIK 828D, featuring SINUMERIK Run MyVirtual Machine. This innovation allows users to create, validate, and optimize NC programs using a digital twin of the machine, cutting real machine setup time by up to 20% and reducing production risks. The system also offers faster program buffering, improved operator visibility, and advanced cybersecurity for safer operations.
