Nottingham-based Daltons Wadkin, a leading UK supplier of industrial machinery, has strengthened its team by hiring a specialist to lead its fibre laser and sheet metal division. Adrian Wright, a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience in the fibre laser and sheet metal industry, has joined the family-run business as its new fibre laser sales manager.
Wright, who has worked with some of the most respected names in the sector, will oversee Daltons Wadkin’s exclusive partnership with Kimla, a Polish manufacturer of CNC and fibre laser machines. The collaboration aims to increase the number of fibre laser installations across the UK and Ireland. Daltons Wadkin has been the sole distributor of Kimla’s advanced CNC routers and fibre laser cutters since 2022, building on a 15-year relationship between the two companies.
Last October, Daltons Wadkin showcased the all-new Kimla five-axis ‘mini-mill’, a product exclusive to the UK market, at its Wood and Panel Machinery Open House. The company also made a notable return to the MACH 2024 exhibition, displaying its state-of-the-art sheet metal and composite machining solutions for the first time since 1996.
The positive response at MACH 2024 prompted Alex Dalton, the company’s managing director, to take the next step in expanding its sheet metal market presence. “We are thrilled to have Adrian on board to lead our fibre laser division,” Dalton said. “His extensive expertise in the sheet metal and fibre laser sectors is precisely what we need to drive further growth. With Kimla’s cutting-edge technology and our skilled engineering network in the UK and Ireland, Adrian’s appointment completes the puzzle, enabling us to move forward with confidence.”
Wright expressed enthusiasm about his new role, stating, “I am excited to promote the Kimla range, including their renowned fibre lasers. The strong partnership between Kimla and Daltons Wadkin over the past 15 years provides a solid foundation for introducing these machines to our customers. A key part of our strategy will be demonstrating the machines’ capabilities through live events in Nottingham or Poland.”
He added, “Kimla is not just a machine builder but a true innovator. Their in-house design and manufacturing of linear motors, along with their unique machine design, enable their fibre lasers to cut materials faster and with unmatched precision.”
With Wright’s appointment, Daltons Wadkin aims to strengthen its position in the fibre laser and sheet metal markets, leveraging his expertise and Kimla’s advanced technology to meet growing customer demand.
