The Telangana government announced a few days ago that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JSW UAV Limited, a subsidiary of JSW Defence, to set up a state-of-the-art Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) manufacturing plant in Telangana. The project involves an investment of Rs 800 crore and is expected to create more than 200 highly skilled jobs and enhance Telangana’s reputation as a hub for technological and defence innovation.
The agreement was signed in Davos by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, who highlighted the state’s growing appeal to global investors. “With a clear vision and dedicated efforts, we are making Telangana a top destination for investments in sectors like semiconductors, defence, private space, and FMCG,” he said. “Our focus on attracting global businesses, especially under the China Plus One strategy, is already yielding positive results.”
Telangana Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu also praised the partnership, calling it a milestone for the state. “This collaboration will set a new benchmark in the sector and reinforce Telangana’s position as India’s leading manufacturing hub,” he said.
JSW UAV, a leader in unmanned aerial vehicle technology, specializes in developing advanced drone solutions for industries such as agriculture, infrastructure, and surveillance. The company is known for its focus on innovation and sustainability, offering products that enhance operational efficiency while minimizing environmental impact.
The new facility will leverage cutting-edge technologies, including AI-driven analytics and real-time data processing, to deliver precision-driven drones capable of operating in diverse environments—from rugged terrains to urban settings. This initiative is expected to strengthen India’s defence capabilities and contribute to the country’s growing drone manufacturing sector.
The partnership marks a significant step in Telangana’s efforts to attract global investments and solidify its position as a leader in advanced technology and industrial development.
