Tata Boeing Aerospace Limited (TBAL) has marked a significant achievement with the delivery of its 300th fuselage for the AH-64 Apache attack helicopter. These fuselages are produced at TBAL’s advanced manufacturing facility and are supplied to global customers, including the U.S. Army and the Indian Army.
The Indian Air Force currently operates 22 AH-64E Apache helicopters. This milestone highlights TBAL’s dedication to enhancing India’s defense capabilities and supporting the country’s growing manufacturing sector, the company stated.
A joint venture between Boeing and Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL), TBAL employs more than 900 engineers and technicians. The company integrates modern robotics, automation, and aerospace technologies into its production processes.
TBAL’s facility, which spans 14,000 square meters, is the sole global supplier of Apache fuselages. Over 90% of the components used in Apache aerostructures are sourced from India. The company also works with over 100 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the country.
Boeing is committed to providing advanced aerospace solutions to Indian customers while promoting long-term growth in India’s aerospace industry. The company continues to support local suppliers and collaborates with Indian academic and research institutions to drive innovation.
With a supply chain of more than 300 Indian companies, Boeing manufactures components such as Apache fuselages and vertical fin structures for its 737 aircraft. The company’s annual sourcing from India exceeds $1 billion.
Boeing currently employs over 6,000 people in India, with another 13,000 working through its supply chain partners. Through various community and corporate programs, Boeing has impacted more than 1.5 million people, demonstrating its commitment to social responsibility and sustainable development in the region.
