Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL), a prominent defence Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), has launched its second assembly line for electronic fuzes at its Pune facility. The new line, which focuses on artillery ammunition, was officially inaugurated by Lieutenant General Amardeep Singh Aujla, Master General Sustenance (MGS) of the Indian Army. BEL’s Chairman and Managing Director, Manoj Jain, was also present at the event.
BEL’s Pune unit has been instrumental in supporting India’s defence manufacturing capabilities, in line with the Government of India’s initiatives such as “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat.” The addition of this second assembly line is a response to the growing demand for electronic fuzes, a key component in modern artillery systems.
This expansion underscores BEL’s commitment to self-reliance in defence production, providing high-tech solutions and top-quality products to the Indian Armed Forces. BEL, a leader in India’s defence and aerospace sectors, is a government-owned company under the Ministry of Defence.
