Sterlite Power has successfully completed the Nangalbibra-Bongaigaon transmission line project, aimed at improving power infrastructure in Assam and Meghalaya. The 300 circuit kilometer transmission system includes a new substation with a 300 MW capacity, which will enhance the reliability of electricity supply in Meghalaya.
The 123 km, 400kV DC transmission line connects Bongaigaon in Assam to a new substation at Nangalbibra in Meghalaya. The Nangalbibra substation features a 220/132kV system with a 2×160 MVA capacity and plans for future upgrades to 400kV to meet rising energy needs.
