Minebea Intec, a global leader in industrial weighing and inspection technologies, has introduced the Dylight S X-ray inspection system. This new product is designed to meet the evolving needs of the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries, which face increasing regulatory demands and a shift toward sustainable packaging.
The Dylight S X-ray system offers advanced contaminant detection and quality assurance at an affordable price. It is equipped with sideshooter technology, which ensures accurate detection of foreign objects in products with light or complex packaging. The system can identify both metallic and non-metallic contaminants, such as glass, rubber, stones, and plastic, in various container types, including PET bottles, Tetra Paks, and plastic cans.
In addition to detecting contaminants, the Dylight S performs completeness checks and fill level inspections. Mengqi Liang, Product Manager at Minebea Intec, highlighted the system’s compact design, which allows easy integration into existing production lines. The system also features a monoblock generator, eliminating the need for an external transformer and reducing technical complexity and overall costs.
The Dylight S includes autonomous parameter adjustment, which simplifies product setup and inspection while reducing false rejects. This feature improves production efficiency and detection accuracy. The system’s image acquisition software creates a secondary X-ray image from the original scan, enabling operators to adjust brightness, contrast, and scaling to detect previously missed contaminants. The software is designed to be user-friendly and intuitive.
The Dylight S is also designed for digital integration, supporting interfaces like OPC-UA for standardized communication. It is compatible with Minebea Intec’s SPC@Enterprise software for statistical process control and data analysis. Remote access via TeamViewer simplifies maintenance and service operations.
“The Dylight S combines compact design, advanced technology, and low total cost of ownership, setting a new standard in X-ray inspection,” said Liang.
