Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured two major contracts, further solidifying its position as a leader in large-scale industrial projects. The company’s Minerals & Metals (M&M) business has been awarded a significant contract by Hindalco to build an 850 KTPA (kilo tonnes per annum) greenfield alumina refinery in Odisha. The project will involve engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPC), highlighting L&T’s expertise in delivering complex industrial infrastructure.
This collaboration builds on a long-standing partnership between L&T and Hindalco, spanning over 30 years. L&T has previously worked as an EPC contractor for Hindalco’s alumina, aluminum, and copper plants. The new contract reflects Hindalco’s continued trust in L&T’s ability to execute large-scale projects efficiently.
In addition to the alumina refinery, L&T’s M&M business has also won an order to construct an 8 MTPA (million tonnes per annum) Pellet Plant for a leading Indian steel producer. The project, which will be executed in collaboration with renowned technology providers, includes engineering, manufacturing, supply, construction, and installation.
