Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation has introduced two new photorelays, the TLP3414S and TLP3431S, designed to make semiconductor testing faster and more efficient. Both models come in a compact S-VSON4T package and feature significantly improved turn-on times compared to earlier versions. The TLP3414S supports an OFF-state voltage of 40V and an ON-state current of 250mA, while the TLP3431S offers an OFF-state voltage of 20V and an ON-state current of 450mA. Shipments of the new devices began today.
Faster Turn-On Times for Improved Efficiency
The new photorelays achieve faster performance by boosting the optical output of infrared-emitting diodes and optimizing photodiode array detectors. This innovation reduces the turn-on time to just 150 microseconds (μs). Specifically, the TLP3414S is about 50% faster than its predecessor, the TLP3414, while the TLP3431S is 62% faster than the TLP3431.
Consistent Performance in a Smaller Package
Despite their compact size, the new photorelays maintain the same ON-state resistance and output capacitance as previous models. The TLP3414S has a maximum resistance of 3Ω, and the TLP3431S has a maximum resistance of 1.2Ω. Both models feature a typical output capacitance of 6.5pF, ensuring reliable signal transmission with minimal loss or leakage.
Ideal for Semiconductor Testing
These photorelays are particularly suited for pin electronics applications in semiconductor testers, where high-speed and high-accuracy switching are critical. The S-VSON4T package is 20% smaller than the earlier VSON4 package, helping manufacturers design more compact semiconductor testers.
