In a significant move to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in India, Euler Motors, a leading electric commercial vehicle manufacturer, has partnered with Tata Power Renewables, one of the country’s top power companies. The two entities have signed a long-term Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand fast-charging infrastructure, making it easier for commercial EV users to access reliable charging solutions.
Under the agreement, Tata Power Renewables will deploy fast-charging stations tailored for Euler Motors’ entire product range. These stations will be strategically located along key routes frequented by Euler Motors’ customers. Additionally, users will be provided with smart cards for hassle-free access to Tata Power’s charging network.
The MoU was formalized in the presence of senior executives from both companies, including Virendra Goyal, Head of Business Development at Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Limited (TPEVCSL), and Ashish Tandon, Global Head of Customer Excellence at Euler Motors. This collaboration marks a major milestone in India’s push toward a robust EV ecosystem.
Addressing Key Challenges in EV Adoption
One of the biggest hurdles for commercial EV adoption is the lack of accessible charging infrastructure. Unlike traditional fuel stations, EV charging requires strategically placed stations that align with fleet operations and duty cycles. To tackle this, Tata Power Renewables will install, operate, and maintain fast chargers, ensuring high reliability and uptime. Euler Motors, on its part, will provide the necessary space for these chargers, further supporting the initiative.
The partnership also includes customizing chargers to meet the higher power requirements of Euler Motors’ vehicles. For instance, the HiLoadEV, India’s only fast-charging 3W commercial EV, can achieve a full charge in just 30 minutes. This capability significantly reduces downtime, enhancing operational efficiency for fleet operators.
Building Confidence in EVs
Saurav Kumar, Founder and CEO of Euler Motors, highlighted the importance of fast-charging infrastructure in driving EV adoption. “Fast-charging solutions are essential to building customer trust in EVs. This partnership not only improves vehicle uptime but also lowers the total cost of ownership (TCO) and boosts returns on investment (ROI) for fleet operators. As we expand our fleet, this collaboration will play a crucial role in creating a sustainable EV ecosystem for the commercial segment,” he said.
Euler Motors is currently the only company in India offering fast-charging capabilities for both three-wheeled (3W) and four-wheeled (4W) commercial EVs. By joining forces with Tata Power Renewables, the company aims to address range anxiety, improve charging accessibility, and accelerate India’s transition to electric mobility.
