One Electric has announced plans to introduce the KRIDN X, a new electric motorcycle designed for city commuting. The KRIDN X will cater to both urban and rural riders. The company’s six years of experience, combined with performance data from over 2,000 vehicles tested in India and across various African countries, has influenced the development of this new model.
Gaurav Uppal, CEO of One Electric, explained, “Our experience with electric motorcycles in diverse conditions and geographies has shaped the KRIDN X. While our original model, the KRIDN, was successful, we identified three key elements for global scalability: Quality, Affordability, and Range.”
The company aims to deliver a motorcycle that is affordable, offers a daily range of up to 200 kilometers, and requires minimal charging or battery swapping, all while maintaining strong torque and durability.
Abhijeet Shah, CTO of One Electric, added, “The KRIDN X was designed with Quality, Affordability, and Range in mind. Over two years, we worked with leading suppliers to source high-quality components at competitive prices. We are also proud to announce 100% localization for this model, enabling us to offer a warranty of up to 4 years or 60,000 kilometers.”
Although the electric scooter market has grown to nearly 20% of the total scooter market, the electric motorcycle segment is still small, accounting for just 1%. One Electric sees this as a significant opportunity. The company aims to sell 30,000 units per month over the next three years and become the leading electric motorcycle choice in India.
The KRIDN X features high torque, allowing it to carry loads up to 225 kilograms and tackle steep urban gradients. While the motorcycle’s range is suitable for daily city commuting, One Electric also offers battery swapping for users with specific needs. The KRIDN X will initially be launched in Delhi NCR and Pune in April 2025, with plans to expand to other parts of India over time.
Gaurav Uppal further noted, “A great product alone isn’t enough. Excellent after-sales service and affordable spare parts are essential for customer trust. We plan to collaborate with select B2B partners while initially offering a limited number of units directly to consumers. We will expand operations carefully, ensuring customer satisfaction. We are confident that the KRIDN X will carve out a niche and be well received.”
Founded in 2019, One Electric holds multiple design patents for its electric two-wheelers, all manufactured in India. In addition to its operations in India and several African countries, the company is exploring markets in the US, Europe, and Southeast Asia.
