BGR Tech Ltd, an Indian company under Prenora holding, has announced a strategic partnership with South Korea’s Elchemtech Co. Ltd. The collaboration aims to bring the advanced Proton Exchange Membrane Water Electrolyser (PEMWE) technology to India. The deal will see the supply of PEM electrolyser units, which will be integrated with BGR Tech’s Balance of Plant (BoP) for projects across the Indian market.
The partnership was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by Priyadershini Raghupathy, Founder and Chairperson of BGR Tech Ltd, and S.B. Moon, CEO of Elchemtech Co. Ltd. The MoU signing took place during the India Energy Week 2025 event. Donghyun Kim, Managing Director of Elchemtech, and officials from the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) also attended the ceremony. Both companies are exploring options to manufacture or assemble PEM stacks in India as part of the “Make in India” initiative.
Elchemtech’s flagship product, the H2Lyser© PEMWE, is known for its compact design and high efficiency. It is one of the most advanced and space-efficient electrolyser systems globally, with a single stack capacity of 240 Nm³/hr or 1.25 MW. As part of the agreement, BGR Tech will integrate its BoP systems, which include the Ultrapure Water Treatment unit, Gas Separation Unit (GSU), Hydrogen Purification Unit (HPS), Oxygen Purification Unit (OPS), and Low Pressure Storage, into modular skid configurations.
This collaboration allows BGR Tech to expand its product offerings and strengthen its engineering and system integration capabilities. The company, based in Chennai, India, brings significant expertise in energy engineering, ranging from oil and gas applications to advanced renewable energy solutions, including green hydrogen production systems.
