Suzlon has clinched an additional 204.75 MW wind energy contract with Jindal Green Wind 1 Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Jindal Renewables. This deal marks the latest milestone in India’s Low CO2 Steel initiative, further boosting Suzlon’s collaboration with Jindal Renewables. The total capacity of this partnership now stands at 907.20 MW, making it Suzlon’s largest Commercial & Industrial (C&I) order to date.
Previously, Suzlon secured two major orders for Jindal Steel’s plants in Chhattisgarh and Odisha, totaling 702.45 MW. With this new agreement, C&I customers now account for 59% of Suzlon’s order book, which has reached a record high of 5.9 GW.
As part of the deal, Suzlon will supply 65 advanced S144 wind turbine generators (WTGs), each with a capacity of 3.15 MW, fitted with Hybrid Lattice Towers (HLT). The power generated will help meet the energy demands of steel plants in Chhattisgarh and Odisha, supporting the sustainability of their operations while contributing to India’s clean energy goals.
Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, expressed pride in driving the decarbonization of India’s steel industry. “We are strengthening our partnership with Jindal Renewables and expanding our Low CO2 Steel initiative to Tamil Nadu, a wind energy leader.
