Zen Technologies Ltd has announced the award of its third patent for the T-90 Tank Simulator, specifically for its innovative Containerised Driving Simulator System (T-90 DS). This latest patent strengthens the company’s position in the field of military training simulation.
The patent, filed on March 24, 2022, will remain valid until March 24, 2042. This marks the 14th patent Zen Technologies has secured this fiscal year, with four of them granted in 2025. The company plans to continue developing simulation technologies to enhance the training of combat vehicle operators and improve military preparedness. Previous patents from the company include those for the Basic Gunnery Simulator (BGS), Crew Gunnery Simulator (CGS), and versions of the T-72 and BMP-II tank simulators.
The T-90 DS is a portable, advanced training solution that provides military personnel with a realistic, immersive training experience. It allows users to train in a controlled environment, removing the need for live vehicle operations while still ensuring effective skill development. The system replicates the driver’s station of a T-90 tank with high precision, featuring a six-degree-of-freedom (6-DOF) motion platform that accurately simulates tank movements across various terrains.
This motion system provides operators with a realistic experience of vehicle dynamics. Additionally, the simulator includes AI-driven, scenario-based training that offers customizable modules to simulate combat situations, including urban warfare, desert operations, and night maneuvers. These features help prepare trainees for a range of battlefield conditions.
By integrating virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR), the T-90 DS boosts situational awareness and offers an interactive training environment. Real-time battlefield scenarios further enhance the learning experience. The simulator also supports multi-crew and multi-unit training, allowing tank crew members to train together, improving teamwork and operational efficiency.
The T-90 DS’s containerized design makes it a mobile, plug-and-play system that is easy to transport and deploy at various military locations. This flexibility eliminates the logistical challenges often associated with moving heavy vehicles, ensuring that armed forces can conduct high-quality training at different sites.
