Maruti Suzuki India has introduced the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) in its Super Carry mini truck, making it the first vehicle in its category to feature this advanced safety technology. The company made the announcement today, highlighting the ESP’s role in enhancing vehicle stability and reducing the risk of rollover.
The ESP system includes seven safety features: Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Engine Drag Control, Traction Control System, Rollover Prevention, Hydraulic Brake Assist, and the core ESP function. In addition, the updated Super Carry now comes with front disc brakes, reverse parking sensors, and a seatbelt reminder for added safety.
Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive of Marketing and Sales at Maruti Suzuki India, commented, “The addition of the Electronic Stability Program in the Super Carry reflects our ongoing commitment to innovation and ensuring the safety of our customers.”
The Super Carry is powered by a 1.2L K-Series Dual Injection, Dual VVT engine, paired with a five-speed manual transmission. It is available in both petrol and CNG versions, with prices ranging from ₹5,49,000 to ₹6,64,000 (ex-showroom).
Since its launch, Maruti Suzuki has sold over 2.2 lakh units of the Super Carry, which is used in various sectors including e-commerce, courier services, FMCG distribution, and general cargo transport. The company has sold the mini truck through more than 370 commercial outlets across 270 cities in India. As competition in the Indian commercial mini truck market grows, manufacturers are focusing more on improving safety features and fuel efficiency to meet both customer demands and regulatory standards.
