Tata Power’s Odisha and Delhi distribution companies received national recognition during Lineman Diwas 2025, organized by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) in New Delhi. Linemen from these regions were celebrated for their dedication to power distribution. Tata Power’s distribution companies, which serve 12.5 million consumers across Odisha, Delhi, Mumbai, and Ajmer, continue to provide reliable and affordable electricity to both urban and rural communities.
At the event, a special ceremony recognized four leading distribution companies and five outstanding linemen. Among the awardees were Ladu Kishore Pradhan from TP Central Odisha Distribution Ltd. and Jai Hind from Tata Power-DDL, both honored for their exceptional contributions to service reliability and power distribution.
Over 160 linemen and linewomen from more than 45 state and private power distribution, generation, and transmission companies attended the event. Representatives from states such as Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal were present to celebrate the hardworking professionals.
Lineman Diwas, established in 2021, honors frontline workers who maintain the country’s electricity infrastructure. This year, the event was attended by Shri Ghanshyam Prasad, Chairperson of the Central Electricity Authority, who acknowledged the efforts of linemen and linewomen who brave harsh conditions to ensure a continuous power supply across India.
Tata Power’s Odisha Discoms’ linemen played a vital role in restoring electricity in the aftermath of Cyclone Dana, which severely disrupted the power network. They worked tirelessly in dangerous conditions to restore power to essential services like hospitals, schools, and banks, showcasing their critical role in disaster recovery.
In addition to these accolades, Tata Power continues to prioritize the health and safety of its linemen. Regular safety training programs are conducted to ensure the workforce has the necessary skills to work safely. The company is committed to a Zero Harm Culture, making safety a central focus of all operations.
This recognition is another milestone in Tata Power’s success, as their distribution companies were recently ranked among the top national utilities in the Ministry of Power’s Discom Ratings. This further solidifies Tata Power’s leadership in India’s energy sector.
