Felbermayr is currently delivering essential components to a gas and steam power plant in Mintia, Romania, as part of a larger project.
After successfully transporting three turbines from Germany to the plant, Felbermayr has now shipped two large generators from Charleston, USA. Each generator weighs 380 tonnes and was first transported by inland waterway vessel from Antwerp, Belgium, to Linz, Austria. There, they were transferred onto Felbermayr’s RoRo30 vessel.
The journey continued along the Danube River and then onto the Tisza River, reaching Tápé, Hungary. From there, the generators were unloaded onto self-propelled modular transporters (SPMT) using the ro-ro ramp and were then driven to Mako, Hungary. The generators were loaded onto trucks using a stand jack system and delivered to their final destination in Mintia.
Felbermayr will use the same method to transport the second generator, while the third generator is set to depart from Charleston shortly.
