Textron Aviation has delivered Canada’s first Cessna SkyCourier twin-engine turboprop to Air Bravo Corp, a flight service provider specializing in passenger, cargo, and air ambulance services. Air Bravo, with bases in Thunder Bay, Sudbury, Barrie, and Meaford (Ontario), will use the freighter version of the aircraft to transport cargo across the region.
Rick Horwath, president and CEO of Air Bravo, expressed pride in being the first Canadian customer for the SkyCourier. “This aircraft is a perfect fit for our cargo operations, and we are excited to begin using it,” Horwath said. Founded in 2001, Air Bravo has become one of Ontario’s leading air carriers.
The Cessna SkyCourier received type certification from Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) in late 2024. The high-wing, twin-engine turboprop is available in freighter, passenger, and Combi configurations. It can also be fitted with a gravel kit, which allows it to operate safely on unpaved surfaces by reducing the risk of foreign object damage.
The freighter version of the SkyCourier can carry up to three LD3 shipping containers and has a load capacity of 6,000 pounds. Powered by two Pratt & Whitney PT6A-65SC engines, the aircraft boasts a maximum cruising speed of over 200 knots and a range of 900 nautical miles.
