Bowers Group, based in Camberley, recently hosted a successful Metrology Open Day, partnering with the University of Wolverhampton Racing (UWR). The event took place at the university’s engineering hub on the Telford Campus and attracted industry professionals from over 20 companies. Attendees had the chance to explore precision measurement techniques, watch live demonstrations, and learn about innovations in motorsport.

Attendees had the chance to experience Bowers Group’s advanced metrology solutions up close. Exclusive product demonstrations featured the latest in connected measurement technology, such as the new Figura contour and roundness measurement machines. The company also showcased its new mobile metrology showroom.
One of the day’s highlights was the live machining and inspection demonstrations, where visitors observed how metrology ensures precision components meet the rigorous demands of modern manufacturing. Bowers Group engineers were available to share their expertise on the latest measurement techniques, while the UWR team demonstrated how metrology is crucial in designing, developing, and enhancing race car performance.
Guests were also able to try their hand at the UWR racing simulator, adding some friendly competition to the event. With metrology playing a key role in achieving top performance on both the racetrack and in manufacturing, the event highlighted the essential role of precision measurement in driving success.
