PTG Holroyd to Showcase Advanced Technologies at CIMT 2025

by sthv

PTG Holroyd Precision, based in Rochdale, UK, will display its cutting-edge machine tool technologies at the 19th China International Machine Tool Show (CIMT 2025) in Beijing. The event, which runs from April 21 to 26, is one of China’s largest and most influential exhibitions for machine tools. PTG Holroyd will feature its range of precision milling and grinding machines for the production of helical components, including gears, rotors, screws, and threads. The company will be showcasing its innovations at Stand E1-A011.

The CIMT show is renowned for attracting global manufacturers, and PTG Holroyd’s advanced machines are already trusted by Chinese refrigeration and air compressor producers for their exceptional accuracy and reliability. Mark Curran, Sales Director at PTG Holroyd, highlighted that the company’s machines offer innovative features that make them highly efficient and reliable in production.

At CIMT 2025, PTG Holroyd will present several new models, including the HG500, which is considered one of the most versatile large-capacity helical profile grinders available. The company will also display the HG350-WG, a worm and gear grinding center, and the upgraded TG Series thread grinding machines. Additionally, visitors will learn more about the company’s dual-capability roots-type blower and helical rotor milling machines.

The HG500: A Highlight of CIMT 2025

A key focus at the PTG Holroyd stand will be the HG500 model. This machine is designed to meet the needs of manufacturers with diverse production requirements. Capable of grinding rotors ranging from 50mm to 510mm in diameter, the HG500 can accommodate profiles with depths of up to 130mm and weights of up to 1,500kg.

The HG500 offers flexibility in production strategies with two key grinding wheel options. The standard 500mm vitrified dressable aluminium oxide wheel allows for flexibility in product development, while plated CBN roughing and finishing wheels provide cost-effective solutions for high-volume production. For manufacturers needing precision for larger helical components, a 600mm vitrified dressable aluminium oxide grinding wheel is also available, offering extended wheel life.

The 4EX-R-BL Roots-Type Blower and Milling Machine

Another machine generating significant interest at CIMT 2025 will be the updated 4EX-R-BL roots-type blower and helical rotor milling machine. The 4EX-R-BL now features a completely redesigned machine bed and worktable, allowing it to mill components up to 450mm in diameter—an improvement over the previous model, which could handle parts up to 420mm.

This new design increases support against cutter forces and includes a lower machine bed height, providing enhanced stability during milling. The maximum cutter width has been increased from 320mm to 400mm, allowing the machine to handle larger rotor profiles. The HSK 160 cutter spindle interface also adds more rigidity for precise cutting.

Looking Ahead to CIMT 2025

Curran concluded, “We are excited to showcase our latest innovations at CIMT 2025. PTG Holroyd Precision has long been a leader in milling and grinding technologies, particularly for screw compressors and rotor manufacturers. We look forward to presenting our British-built machines to a global audience in Beijing.”

At CIMT 2025, PTG Holroyd aims to strengthen its reputation as a leader in precision engineering and offer its advanced solutions to manufacturers in China and beyond.
