Taylor Ltd (STL) will participate in the upcoming Battery Technology Expo 2025, the UK’s largest exhibition for the battery value chain. The event will be held at The Wing, Silverstone, on March 26-27, 2025, with STL showcasing its innovations at Stand B14. The expo will bring together professionals from the advanced battery technology and energy storage industries to network, collaborate, and explore new business opportunities.
A Key Player in the Battery Value Chain
STL is a key player in the battery industry, known for its in-house production of dual thickness, multi-material, and contacted busbars. These components are essential for various applications, including remote disconnect smart meters and battery pack technology. At the event, STL will display its bonded aluminium and copper (ALCu) and bonded silver and copper (SilCu), as well as ‘spot welded’ aluminium and copper busbars. The growing battery industry is experiencing an electrical revolution, with major technology companies heavily investing in next-generation battery development and energy storage solutions.
The expo offers an ideal platform for showcasing the latest products, technologies, and services across sectors like battery management systems, electric vehicle (EV) batteries, battery storage, and commercial power devices.
Quality and Innovation at the Core
STL’s success in the battery industry is built on its expertise in manufacturing double-thickness contact busbars for smart meters. Leveraging this experience, STL worked closely with a leading EV battery module developer to design and set up a pilot-scale stamping line for producing 10,000 prototype EV batteries. STL’s team then developed a new double-thickness manufacturing process to meet strict quality standards, allowing for the scalable production of 70,000 busbars.
Additionally, STL has contributed to the development of the high-speed Lotus Evija, where it produced specialized busbars for the car’s battery, incorporating extremely flat areas and precise thickness tolerances to facilitate laser welding.
A Legacy of Engineering Excellence
Celebrating its 125th anniversary, STL continues to lead in engineering innovation, offering precision-engineered solutions to the global manufacturing industry. The company specializes in precision bonding of base and precious metals, the production of electrical contact rivets, and the stamping and welding of contact assemblies. With its unique combination of technology, experience, and expertise, STL is committed to providing effective, cost-driven solutions to the most complex manufacturing challenges.
