Wolverhampton Electro Plating (WEP), a leading metal finishing company, has boosted its operational capacity with the installation of a new fully automated robotic dip-spin line. This new zinc flake coating dip-spin line is now fully operational and enhances the company’s ability to serve both new and existing customers.
The addition of this fourth dip-spin line increases WEP’s processing capacity by approximately six tons per hour. This expansion allows the company to handle higher volumes, improve turnaround times, and provide more efficient service. The new machinery also offers greater operational flexibility, enabling WEP to plan and deliver a variety of finishes more effectively. The streamlined process, with fewer machine changeovers and reduced idle times, ensures faster production.
Denis Rainbird, General Manager of WEP, commented, “This new dip-spin line is a major investment for our company, reinforcing our position as a leader in zinc flake coatings. It reflects our commitment to delivering the high-quality corrosion resistance our customers rely on. With four dip-spin lines now in operation, we have large capacity and flexibility, plus backup capacity to ensure continuous service, even during unforeseen downtime.”
WEP is a part of the Anochrome Group, which is the only UK-based company offering a full range of zinc flake paint plating systems from leading suppliers such as NOF (Geomet), Magni, DÖRKEN, and PPG (Xylan). The company has also experienced significant growth recently, acquiring two divisions from The Electrolytic Plating Company Limited (EPC) at the end of last year. This acquisition included the transfer of EPC employees and machinery, which has increased WEP’s market share.
WEP serves major Tier 1 suppliers to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) across sectors like automotive, construction, rail, petrochemical, wind energy, highways, and commercial vehicles. The company holds several key industry accreditations, including ITAF 16949:2016, ISO 9001:2015, and ISO 14001:2015.
