Replus Expands Battery Manufacturing Capacity to 6GWh with Advanced Technology

by sthv

Replus, a leading battery manufacturing company and a part of the LNJ Bhilwara Group, has announced plans to increase the capacity of its existing 1GWh production facility to 6GWh within the next year. This expansion aims to meet the rising demand for Electric Vehicles (EVs) and Energy Storage Systems (ESS) in India while integrating cutting-edge battery technologies to stay ahead in the industry.

The upgraded facility, set to become a 6GWh production hub, will feature state-of-the-art technologies designed to enhance efficiency and sustainability. A key feature of the plant is its high-speed automation, incorporating advanced automation systems, artificial intelligence (AI), and data-driven processes. These technologies will allow for real-time monitoring, machine vision, robotics, automated material handling, and laser welding, all of which will streamline production while reducing the facility’s environmental impact.

The facility will also adopt a flexible, cell chemistry-agnostic approach. This means Replus will be able to produce a variety of battery types, including high-energy density cells, blade cells, and emerging technologies such as sodium-ion (Na-ion), lithium manganese iron phosphate (LMFP), and lithium titanate (LTO) batteries. This versatility will ensure the plant is well-equipped to meet both current and future battery demands.

The expanded facility will also focus on producing next-generation products for a wide range of applications. These include advanced battery packs and liquid-cooled Energy Storage Systems (BESS), which will be used in electric vehicles, buses, trucks, and large-scale renewable energy storage solutions. This diverse product range underscores the facility’s role in supporting the global shift toward clean energy and electric mobility.
