A new pan-European auction house, Dome Auctions, has quickly made its mark by introducing a unique platform tailored for the Western European metalworking industry. Over the next two months, Dome Auctions will host the sale of 100 high-quality modern machines from four Swiss companies in the metal sector.
The companies involved in this auction include Marton AG, Progin AG Metal, BIG Kaiser, and Tabelco, a producer of electrical switchgear cabinets. These firms are either restructuring or have recently gone bankrupt due to the current challenges faced by the industry.
Olivier Zwahlen, business area director at Platinum Industrial Plant & Machinery (PIPM Group), expressed regret over the bankruptcies of Marton and Progin AG Metal. “Unfortunately, both companies, which continued to invest until just two years ago, went bankrupt. This allows us to auction a range of modern, high-quality sheet metal-working machines,” Zwahlen said.
PIPM is overseeing the auction of machines from these companies in collaboration with Dome Auctions, a strategic partner. The auction for Marton AG’s machinery is already underway. Marton, a family-owned business, supplied both the automotive and construction industries. However, a shift in the German manufacturing sector, along with the loss of a key customer, forced the company’s owner to file for bankruptcy.
Among the almost 800 lots currently up for auction is a 2016 Trumpf TruLaser 5040 laser cutting machine, along with a Trumatic 7000 punch laser. Another highlight is an FMG GBLK sheet metal warehouse, which includes 343 lots of 4,000 x 2,000mm sheets weighing up to 5,000kg each. Marton had also heavily invested in automation, with items like a Trumpf Sheetmaster 7130 vacuum loader and advanced cutting technology.
Additionally, a Bystronic ByJet Classic 3015 waterjet cutting machine and several hand tools are also available for bidding. The auction is set to run until April 21, with a viewing day scheduled for April 17.
