Paras Defence and Space Technologies Ltd has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Israel’s MicroCon Vision Ltd, a subsidiary of the Controp and Rafael Group, to strengthen India’s defense and drone technology capabilities. This partnership will allow Paras Defence to exclusively supply advanced drone camera systems across India, offering these technologies at significantly lower costs.
The main goal of this collaboration is to localize the production of advanced drone cameras and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) payloads, which will promote India’s self-reliance in defense technology. By incorporating a high level of local content into these systems, Paras Defence expects to cut the cost of each unit by 50-60%, making advanced surveillance technology more affordable for both military and commercial use. Units that typically cost between ₹20 lakh and ₹40 lakh when imported will now be available at a much lower price.
As part of the agreement, MicroCon Vision will provide Paras Defence with exclusive drone cameras, ISR payloads, and Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) seekers. In return, Paras Defence will become MicroCon’s exclusive partner for ISR operations in India. This partnership aligns with MicroCon’s plans to expand its footprint in India’s rapidly growing drone market.
The MoU also focuses on integrating advanced technologies such as AI-driven analytics, high-resolution imaging, and thermal vision into the ISR payloads. This will improve surveillance and operational efficiency in both defense and civilian sectors.
