Aurrigo International plc, a global leader in transport technology, has announced that its innovative Auto-Dolly Tug and Auto-Sim solutions have been approved for deployment at over 60 airports through a partnership with Aviation Solutions B.V. (Aviation Solutions). The company, known for commercializing advanced technologies, has successfully tested these solutions at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, marking a significant step forward in airport automation.
This collaboration, first revealed last year, aims to introduce Aurrigo’s autonomous technology across the aviation industry. With testing now complete under the Royal Schiphol Group’s contract, the focus shifts to expanding these validated technologies to airports around the world.

The partnership provides a unique opportunity to showcase the environmental, cost-saving, and performance benefits of the Auto-Dolly Tug at Schiphol Airport, with over 65 organizations already using Aviation Solutions’ products. The aviation sector is now encouraged to explore how automation can introduce new efficiencies.
Aurrigo’s CEO, Professor David Keene, emphasized the significance of the Auto-Dolly Tug, calling it “one of the most important innovations in baggage and cargo handling in the last 40 years.” He added, “The aviation industry is beginning to realize the potential of autonomous vehicles and our advanced technologies.”
Revolutionizing Airport Operations
The Auto-Dolly Tug is an electric, autonomous vehicle that integrates the functions of both a baggage tractor and an airport dolly. With a unique sideways drive system, it can rotate on the spot and move sideways, making it ideal for use in congested airport areas. Its bi-directional robotic arms allow for autonomous loading and unloading of unit load devices (ULDs), streamlining operations and increasing efficiency.
Aurrigo’s Auto-Sim technology is also gaining attention, offering advanced simulation software to optimize airside operations in a digital environment. This technology helps airports, airlines, and ground handlers visualize the impact of introducing new technologies such as charging infrastructure or autonomous vehicles.
This announcement coincides with Aurrigo’s participation in the Passenger Terminal Expo in Madrid from April 8 to 10, where the company is showcasing its latest innovations.
