Goodfellow, a leading UK supplier of advanced materials and metals, has made two significant acquisitions to enhance its offerings and better serve its growing customer base. The company has acquired the Bureau of Analysed Samples (BAS) in Middlesbrough and Suisse Technology Partners (STP) in Switzerland. These acquisitions will provide Goodfellow with access to advanced laboratories, testing facilities, and an exceptional Certified Reference Materials (CRM) capability.
These moves will position Goodfellow as a crucial partner to both research and industry, enabling it to offer more than 170,000 materials, along with services in customization, certification, fabrication, and testing. The company’s strategic expansion also follows last year’s acquisition of Potomac Photonics in the US, supporting its goal to exceed £50 million in revenue within the next two years.
Goodfellow’s CEO, Simon Kenney, stated, “At the beginning of this year, we set clear growth goals, focusing on increasing organic sales and making key acquisitions. These first two acquisitions are vital in shaping our future direction. BAS is a leader in Certified Reference Materials, which are crucial in the development of products in electronics, renewable energy, automotive, defense, and healthcare.”
Kenney added, “Suisse TP is a perfect complement to this. It is highly respected in the global research and development community, and its expertise in surface technology and certified laboratories will bridge the gap between material supply and application testing.”
Goodfellow has a strong reputation as a reliable supplier of metals, alloys, ceramics, polymers, compounds, and composites. It has built lasting relationships with companies in research and design, advanced engineering, space, and science. With subsidiaries in Europe, North America, and China, Goodfellow continues to expand its global reach.
The company also offers various post-processing services, including rolling, electroplating, sputtering, heat treatment, and machining from its headquarters in Huntingdon.
Kenney concluded, “We are always looking for ways to add value for our global customers, and these acquisitions do just that. They expand our capabilities by adding Certified Reference Materials and testing services to our portfolio. We have more acquisitions in the pipeline, and discussions are progressing well.”
Goodfellow, which was recently named one of the ‘Best Places to Work 2024’ by The Sunday Times, is actively recruiting for positions in the UK and at its international facilities.
